YPCN say well done to a youth group that has taken the initiative of policing its neighbourhood in an effort to help fight crime.
The Saints of the Plains Youth Club is made up of teenagers of Stage One in Cunningham.
Club president Alipate Vakaruru said they felt a responsibility to look after their community.
"We started in April with only 15 members, now we have 35 young people," he said. "We assign two members to police our street, Plain Street, everyday while the police carry out their normal patrols."
Yesterday they launched a Neighbourhood Watch Zone scheme. The club is also organising a fundraising drive to build a bus stop.
